| The Carving Centre at Mua is the original foundation of KuNgoni. It supports over 100 carvers who come from the local community. Carvings depict religious and secular themes which link to the local culture of Mua.
Over the last 27 years, KuNgoni has gained a worldwide reputation as a centre of excellence for its art work. From individual pieces to furnishing a chapel in Germany, commissioned art works from KuNgoni have travelled to collections in all parts of the world.
Women within KuNgoni are involved in recreating Ngoni beadwork. This craftwork is included as part of the regaila used during the Centre's cultural performances. |
