Text Box: Each year in the beginning of August, the Kungoni Centre organises an Open Day or a Cultural Festival in commemoration of Father Jean-Baptiste Champmartin, locally called Chamare to whom Chamare Museum is dedicated. The opening prayer and Eucharist starts at 8:30am.

This annual festival brings drummers, singers and dancers from the surrounding villages to Mua where they can display their knowledge of traditional dances and their performance skills. The main arena is behind the museum.

Fundamental to this cultural event is the recognition that culture and faith express themselves through remembrance. Memories bring meaning to our lives. Cultural gatherings are important expressions of people’s identity, so vital in keeping future generations connected to their traditions and ancestral wisdom.
Text Box: The 2010 edition of the annual Cultural Festival will be on the 7th August
